As geotechnical engineer you will act as assistant to project manager/engineer to undertake civil, structural & geotechnical design for wide range of projects including road, rail, buildings, bridge and viaduct. Key responsibilities: Carry out engineering design under direction of project manager/engineer. Direct work of other engineers and CAD draughtsmen. Deal with contractor's staff on technical matters. Requires degree in civil/structural engineering and further qualification in geotechnical engineering with PQE 5-10 years. In addition some post-graduate experience as well being chartered or progressing to chartered status, will be held in high regard. Excellent geotechnical analytical / numerical skills; experience in detailed design of ELS works and underground structures; experience in rock mapping and interpretation of data; and experience in detailed design of major building, civil or bridge structures are also required. IT literate and ideally have experience in the use of PLAXIS, WALLAP and SEEPW.

Experience on hook-up design of large integrated multiple modules projects involving shop drawings, job cards, and mechanical completion package preparation and verification is essential. Our client are looking for a Marine Manager to strengthen their team for an offshore construction and logistics project in the UAE. This is a long term opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing and overseeing the marine logistics elements of the project, encompassing maritime transportation and the port facilities, with the primary aim of ensuring their efficient, effective and seamless management and delivery by directing the service contractors and working with the local Ports Authority. Given the offshore location, there are particular and complex challenges associated with the provision of construction and operational logistics. Therefore, you must have previous significant and demonstrable knowledge and experience of complex construction logistics projects. Rotation will be 12 weeks on, 2 weeks off. The standard working hours will be 48 hours a week over 6 days, with a requirement to work 12 hours overtime per week. Salary is negotiable.
