Our client has a strong focus on the growing deepwater subsea umbilical, riser and flowline markets in Africa, Asia Pacific, Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico as well as a leading role in the North Sea. Employing over 5,000 personnel onshore and offshore they are one of the world's leading subsea engineering and construction companies servicing the Oil & Gas industry.

They are currently recruiting for the position of 3rd Officer, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Job Details

* Keep informed and updated with the company's procedures in general, promoting continuous improvements in operational activities, and safety in the vessel.
* Execute scheduled services, following company procedures, policies and values.
* Identify any incidences of unsafe behaviours and / or attitudes, conditions, processes and / or other correlates, reporting to the immediate superior, and recording or requesting registration according to the tools in the company system.
* Maintenance of all rescue equipment and firefighting, as ordered by Immediate.
* Ensure that all charts and publications are correct and up-to-date. Request substitutions, along with Immediate if necessary.
* Navigation Officer, Acting as a Dynamic Positioning Operator during Dynamic Positioning operations.
* Act as a service room officer on the bridge during navigation or deck room officer while the ship is in port.
* Maintenance of all rescue equipment and firefighting, as ordered by Immediate.
* General walkway and deck routines.
* Responsible for the room of service in conventional lookouts.
* Assist the administrative officer, as necessary, by integrating the safety of new arrivals to boarding.
* At the port, assist the Safety and Security Officer on the vessel with the protection preparations.
* Perform other auxiliary tasks assigned to him, exercising activities with the guidance of his immediate superior.
* The activities listed above must also be performed during the maintenance and docking periods of the vessel.
* Attend meetings, seminars and training, when requested.
* Candidate must be fluent in English.
* Full DP or Advanced DP is required.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
