Job Description

Overview / Responsibilties

 

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Planner to be responsible for the provision of all aspects of project planning and scheduling. The position will require a hands-on approach to the delivery of all aspects of project planning and scheduling for all projects/contracts within the CMA contract scope.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and scheduling workload of the contract
  • Guide, support and direct the planning and scheduling team
  • Work with project stakeholders to develop project baseline schedules
  • Ensure project progress status is captured on ongoing periodic basis
  • Analyse project progress status and articulate this to project team and client
  • Prepare / review / approve all project planning and scheduling project status reports as required (weekly, monthly)
  • Creates reports, trackers and dashboards related to schedule performance, earned value, any aspect of the schedule, as required
  • Update and maintain the planning procedures, work instructions and trackers templates
  • Additionally, may need to do the planner role as required. As per the schedule management procedure
    • Develops the construction schedule
    • Maintains the construction schedule baseline
    • Updates the current construction schedule (progress and forecast)
    • Reports construction schedule performance
    • Review/analyses Contractor's schedule
  • Prepares and supports in the analysis of bulk schedule information
  • Develops what if scenarios
  • Identifies schedule risks and opportunities and provides plans to remediate

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • EPC/EPC(m) and/or Construction experience in a planner capacity
  • Strong Earned Value analysis and reporting experience
  • Technical knowledge of the requirements for nuclear equipment and plants is a plus
  • Execution of construction projects
  • Execution of projects in a highly regulated environment, preferably nuclear is a plus
  • Fluent in English, with additional French preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problem solving skills
  • International experience managing engineering and construction contracts of equipment and materials in a large scale project environment
  • Expert with P6 in multi user mode, coding, reporting in Excel out of P6, management of permissions and accounts
  • Expert in Excel advanced features such as vlookup, sumif, pivot tables
  • Significant knowledge and experience of project planning and scheduling principles and techniques within the Oil and Gas industry
