Discipline Responsible Engineer required on the Eleclink Project in Folkestone
covering Geotechnical earthworks (portals and AC works)
Duration: 6 Months
Security clearance will be required to work onsite.
Overall accountability for the day-to-day management, coordination and technical assurance of all engineering activities within a specific engineering discipline for the contract.
To manage the efficient deployment of Field Quality Engineers providing controlled direction, support and mentorship to ensure all site engineering activities are safely delivered to high accuracy, quality and technically assured. To provide regular status reporting, problem-solving and management in collaboration with the Senior Engineering Delivery Manager.
Overall accountability for the day-to-day management and coordination of the technical and engineering activities and technical assurance within a specific engineering discipline for the contract
1 Defining and planning all site engineering requirements
2 Must ensure that the works comply with standards, legislation and contract requirements; ie Technical Assurance implementation including management of inspection and test plans and all supporting inspection documentation.
3 Must propose appointments of checkers, inspectors, Field Engineers for acceptance by the Head of Engineering,
4 Must manage their discipline interfaces between design, construction testing and other interfacing disciplines DREs.
5 Must not allow unapproved or prohibited products, materials, equipment etc to be used.
6 Setting site delivery engineers their daily work bank and Workscope deliverables
7 Controlling the provision of sufficient calibrated setting out and surveying equipment
8 Control and maintenance of As Built red line drawings
9 Control of raising Technical Queries and manging response to enable delivery to progress to plan through the DREs
10 Capturing on site change and additional works considered to be a variation
11 Providing technical guidance and support to the site delivery engineers
12 Deployment and management of Field engineers and their performance
13 The DRE role and responsibilities are to be discharged in accordance with specific contract requirements, legislation, company standards and codes of practice.
14 Shall ensure compliance to Design Management and Operation engineering standards
15 Accountable for the approval of all Task Briefing Sheets. or delegated (in writing) to an approved competent person.
16 Accountable for all technical assurance and quality inspection records including remediation
17 Must not allow any works to commence without approved AFC designs, work package plans, TBSs, etc.
18 Responsible for technical and operational safe methodology through periodic site inspection, audits and peer reviews of high risk work plans and other technical documents.
19 Responsible for any specified monitoring of the existing infrastructure or elements of installed works
20 Responsible for the management and application of the Common Safety Method including evidence collation & maintenance to prove compliance to stated safety requirements and measures.
21 Must endorse all relevant certificates for entry into service, such as Form 5 Fitness to be taken back into use at the end of each sift, Forms A-G (appropriate sections)
22 Understand the responsibilities of the Head of Engineering, Quality Manager and Field Engineers
23 Responsible for all validation and verification documentation & collation of the Health & Safety Files

* MICE CEng (preferred)
* Min HNC / HND Civil Engineering
* 10 years minimum relevant experience in similar role.
* Robust knowledge of site engineering practices and equipment
* Excellent managerial skills
* Good programme commercial and personable acumen.
* IT proficient
* Process control orientated
* Approachable and diplomatic
