Wood is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Process Engineer to work with our Mining and Minerals team on exciting new projects. The successful candidate will join a high calibre process team with world-renowned experience in a number of commodities and across a number of technologies.

We aim to provide engineering solutions exceeding our clients’ expectations, delivering on time and on budget and in line with the agreed project technical requirements. This role is based in our Perth CBD office.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex process problems
  • Plan, execute and analyse metallurgical testwork programs
  • Prepare process deliverables such as process design criteria, process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process control philosophies, operating cost estimates and study reports
  • Actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews
  • Undertake site visits to support study and project work requirements

Skills / Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications

 

  • In-depth experience in minerals processing plant design including beneficiation and concentrator circuits is essential
  • A degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or other related field from a recognised institution
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the mining or minerals processing industry
  • Relevant process plant operational experience
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • Experience with metallurgical balancing and simulation software such as METSIM and/or SysCAD would be highly regarded
