UK Group Logistics Manager
Position: Group Logistics Manager - UK
CDS Recruitment is actively recruiting a UK Logistics Manager with actual experience of cultural change and implementation of change.
Location - Preferably Yorkshire but not essential. Our client have offices throughout the uk.

Divisional/Site Transport Managers & Planners
Finance & HR
Qualifications: CPC, DGSA & Other relevant industry qualifications
Past Experiences: Proven experience of managing a multi-site, multi-modal transport operation involving movements of Hazardous materials.
Main purpose of job:
To be responsible for all internal & third party transportation relating to all CDS Recruitments client UK legal entities.
To effectively devise the national logistics strategy by providing our customers an industry leading service.
Though continuous improvement projects identify and achieve cost saving initiatives that will impact positively upon the EBITDA performance of CDS Recruitments client UK.
To ensure CDS Recruitments client are fully compliant in all operations.
To devise the UK Logistics strategy.
Devise and implement relevant key performance indicators that allow an increased visibility of the wider department
Responsible for improving our cost base and efficiencies
Ensure the transport operations are carried out in compliance to statutory regulations, including quarterly review of DGSA compliance on all sites
Ensure that we meet the expectations of our internal and external customers
Effective people management skills, managing teams across multi-site locations
Identify training needs and ensure staff are given the necessary training to carry out their duties
Provide a monthly report to the Business Services Director including Cost analysis, projects, CAPEX, OTIF & vehicle replacement plan
Chair monthly Transport meetings and agree relevant actions and measures
Fully integrate the logistics model across the UK
Keep up to date communicate any changes in statutory transport regulations
Ensure all company HGV drivers comply with the certifications required to drive Dangerous Goods Vehicles
Negotiate Group annual haulage rates/agreements with hauliers and maintain the approved hauliers list in operation
Act as the company's representative on transport issues with customers
Act as the company Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
Be the holder of the company's Operators Licence
Review Transport operation and identify areas of CI and provide regular updates to the Business Services Director
Other Essential Skills:
Excellent Knowledge of hazardous transport operations
IT literate, particularly Excel (Intermediate)
IOSH or NEBOSH
Lean or Six Sigma
