Halliburton win Shell Drilling Contract, Iraq

Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) today announced it has signed a contract with Shell Iraq Petroleum Development to provide drilling services for sustained production at Shell’s Majnoon Oil Field in Southern Iraq. Under the contract Halliburton will mobilize three rigs to drill development wells and carry out work over activities over the next two years.

“We are pleased to be awarded this work and the opportunity to collaborate with Shell to engineer solutions for the development of Majnoon,” said Ahmed Kenawi, senior vice president of the Middle East and North Africa region for Halliburton. “We have provided drilling services on this project for the past six years and signing this contract is a testimony to the safe and high quality service we previously delivered.”
