The Expat Investors Club is a social network where expats can meet online and share insights with other investors who are potentially interested in similar markets and face similar cross-jurisdictional issues.
It is powered by Investwits, who are taking their investor network concept from its Danish roots to expand to expats internationally.
Investwits was founded in 2016 by Kenneth Bach and Jan Thysgesen. They have built their existing investor club for Danish expats in cooperation with the Danish Shareholder Association and other investment sites to a membership of 170,000 investors. Kenneth Bach has almost 20 years of experience in the financial services sector in Denmark and has co-founded several start-ups in the FinTech sector including an advisory investment firm. Co-founder Jan Thygesen has been in the financial service industry for 20 years in Danish, British, and American banks worldwide in roles ranging from marketing to CEO.
Investwits have now decided to extend this idea internationally to expat investors, who share challenges as they look to invest in different markets around the world and need to consider cross-jurisdictional issues.
Members can create and load the portfolio of stocks, indices and foreign exchange markets that they are potentially interested in following or investing in and then track what others are saying about those specific investments. They can access the views of opinion leaders, companies, and fellow investors and get their shared thoughts and take on the situation – all in one place.
As members plan to tackle the current market, they can post their thoughts and get feedback from fellow investors. They can read and respond to ideas from other members of the Expat Investors Club. The Expat Investors Club also gives members access to news and alerts when something is happening in their portfolio to help them to feel the market pulse and learn what the market is thinking.
The major financial news feeds are available in The Ticker and you can access current foreign exchange rates, major indices and charts and news feeds for the main stock exchanges.
The Expat Investors Club is a place where potential investors can get information about the investments they are interested in and exchange views with and get the opinions of other expats interested in those investments. Membership of the Expat Investors Club is free.
The Expat Investors Club is a managed environment and like other social networks like LinkedIn and Facebook members can decide who they want to connect to and exchange views with.
