New International Health Insurance
Just For Expats

A new plan, expatMedex, aims to provide flexible, international medical insurance exclusively for expats.

The plan is geared to the ‘traditional’ longer-term expat who is looking for a cost-effective solution to medical insurance. It offers three plan options across three areas of cover and is available to new applicants of any age.

The three options are:

  • Gold: This includes hospital accommodation and treatment, outpatient specialist services, family doctor, prescription drugs, cancer care, dental treatment, maternity care, well-being, HIV/AIDS benefit, emergency medical evacuation costs and out-of-area cover.
  • Silver: This includes hospital accommodation and treatment, outpatient specialist services, family doctor, prescription drugs, cancer care, maternity care, HIV/AIDS benefit, emergency medical evacuation costs and out-of-area cover.
  • Bronze: This includes hospital accommodation and treatment, HIV/AIDS benefit, emergency medical evacuation costs and out-of-area cover.

The area of cover chosen will also determine the premium that applies to the policy, divided into three broad areas:  A – Europe and Scandinavia; B – Area A plus all other countries, excluding the USA, Canada and islands of the Caribbean; C – All countries worldwide including the USA, Canada and islands of the Caribbean.

The plan is provided by insurance specialist Bellwood Prestbury, based in the UK and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The plan is insured and underwritten by UK-based Astrenska Insurance.
