Petrofac nets Ichthys LNG gig

Petrofac, the international oil and gas facilities service provider, informed it has been awarded an integrity and maintenance programme development contract by Inpex for the Ichthys LNG project in Australia.

Plant Asset Management, the asset performance management consultancy which is part of the Petrofac Group, will complete the work over the next 20 months. It will be one of the largest global projects awarded to Plant Asset Management, involving an integrated gas chain covering both upstream and midstream assets, Petrofac said in a statement on Wednesday.

Prior to start-up of the offshore and onshore facilities Plant Asset Management will deliver a fit for purpose integrity and maintenance programme. This will allow for timely review and acceptance of the maintenance and inspection programme by operations personnel, and ensure repair strategies and spares are in place, according to the statement.

Plant Asset Management’s BuildMETM asset management programme development platform will support the project with a fully integrated work management system build environment.

The Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.

It is expected to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with more than 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
